CENTER ADMIN
Thompson Head Start Center



Description:  This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of assigned Center(s) to ensure the delivery of quality services to enrolled children and their families. This position is responsible for compliance with all applicable Head Start Performance Standards, Agency policies, and Stat regulations governing the licensure of childcare facilities. 

Location: Natchez, MS
 
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development or related field with a minimum of three years demonstrated experience in leadership and/or management position in an early learning environment of Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related management field with a minimum of 18 hours in Early Childhood Development.
• Strong knowledge of Head Start practice of Early Childhood Development and/or Human Development.
• Working knowledge of Head Start Program Performance Standards, Alabama Child Care regulatory environment or other child development, social service programs, human resources management, or related areas in a non-profit organization.
• Demonstrated experience in administration and supervision, office management, case management, or related areas.
• Oral and written communication skills, which support positive feedback among operational levels.
• Ability to continuously report to work daily for a minimum of five (5) days per week to prevent delays in service delivery.
• Significant problem-solving ability, which can translate emotionally charged family needs into recommendations and relevant community referrals.
• Ability to work as a team member, collaborating with parents and community resources. 
• Ability to prioritize workload, multi-task, meet deadlines, and maintain a patient and professional attitude, balancing attention to detail with a “bigger picture” perspective. 
• Substantial decision making and problem solving relevant to operations management and procedures, Performance Standards, federal, state, and local regulations.
• Regular kneeling, bending, and sitting on the floor to attend to the child’s needs. 
• Ability to relate to clients from diverse populations.
• Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs., frequent, prolonged sitting and standing to complete tasks. 
• Ability to travel, sometimes overnight and with short notice.
