MALE INITIATIVE AT UNION COUNTY COMPLEX
Union County Complex in New Albany, MS held a
Male Initiative event - Lunch With Dads.
This event began with the dads going to the cafeteria to have lunch with their children, grandchildren, etc. After lunch the dads assembled for a meeting with Dr. Worth Haynes of Haynes and Associates.
Dr. Haynes began his meeting by asking the dads what was unique about the last Super Bowl. The dads mentioned the fact that both of the coaches were black. Although this was true, Dr. Haynes was speaking of another not so obvious matter. He stated that what was unique was that it had two coaches that demonstrated their leadership through clear instruction and through calm quiteness. The coaches believed that if they gave the players clear instruction, treated them with respect, properly motivated them and gave them the goal, they would reach their goal. Dr. Haynes then stated that a dad has a lot of the same responsibilities as those calm, cool, collected coaches.
Dr. Haynes closed this meeting by stating that dads should strive to follow the 4 L's.
